Day.1. Activities commenced on the morning of the 8th with visitors being welcomed and issued with identification badges, area maps and guides, and complimentary momentos of the occasion. Morning tea was provided by BRHCC ladies, and a hearty breakfast was available from the Lions mobile diner.

After the usual under bonnet inspections and related chat, all rally participants were briefed on the first activity, a guided run through scenic areas of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. For the latter part of the day, visitors were left to their own devices, with arrangements with the Maleny Hotel for provision of an evening meal as required.
