The Club was established in 1992 by a group of enthusiasts in the Maleny-Montville area. The clubhouse, constructed in 2012, is situated at the end of Bryce Lane in the precinct of the Maleny Historical Society (see the 'Pioneer Village' sign on the corner), on the northern approaches to Maleny, in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, SE Queensland.
The Club caters for all Automotive enthusiasts, sharing memories, ideas and fellowship while indulging their appreciation of fine automobiles from throughout history.
The Club has over 130 members, with 280 VHC vehicles on the Club as of June 2023, representing 62 marques. The range is impressive, typified by veteran replicas, vintage American tourers and roadsters, pre WW2 classics, British and European marques of the 1950's to 80's, and Australian icons.
Many Club vehicles are operated under the "Special Interest Vehicle" (SIV) registration scheme for affordable registration of cars used for historic and automobile club purposes. This limits their use to Club organised excursions and regulates safe operation on public roads. It is with a great degree of satisfaction that Members restore and preserve these special cars, rather than the alternative of such history being scrapped.
Members engage in an active social calender, vehicle displays, and regular excursions to venues within a 150 km radius of Maleny.
Wednesday and Sunday mornings are assigned to a social gathering at the Clubhouse, and a general meeting is held monthly.
